Put it up with a buy it now of $1000. If someone bites, great. Maybe it'll go higher even.

But no fair complaining about having not seen them since 96.

Any boo hoo ballyhoo, and puma will drink beer out of your empty skull.

scalpers should be shot. you know, like in the forearm or something. nothing that would kill them, just remind them that scalpers are no better than ticketmaster.

a few months back, jeff tweedy did a few benefit shows for a sound guy out here named gary schepers. gary has a boatload of bills (last i heard it was $300K+) from a hospital stay which included removing part of his foot. i saw a guy on craigslist selling his tweedy ticket for three times the face value and i emailed him and said, "i hope you donate all that money to charity because you're going to rot in hell if you don't." do i really believe he'll rot in hell? no. do i think he's a douchebag for selling his benefit ticket for a profit? oh yes. he never wrote back.

(i'm not comparing dear gauchebag to the tweedy guy, i just felt like sharing the story of that assclown. but i do think scalping is bullshit, no matter how broke you are.)

omg this pisses me off so much! this reminds me of the benefit show for elliott smith after he 'passed away' and all the proceeds for the show were going to suicide prevention but i saw on craigslist that people were selling tickets for 2-3 times face value. i was so fucking pissed off.

The cold, rational capitalist in me says sell them. There is no reason anyone should be dumb enough to pay 1K for a radiohead ticket, and if you are rich enough to throw around 1k for a concert ticket, I probably don't want to be at the same show as you.
The rest of me says that by selling them, you are only encouraging the market price for shows like this to skyrocket. The next time they tour, ticket brokers will buy twice as many up and put the asking price somewhere in the hundreds.

that's totally different and i would never do something like that if it was a benefit show for something or somebody. all this is going to benefit is thom yorke's pocketbook.

It wouild be sooooo much more fun to go to the venue, and about a half-hour before they go on, when there's thousands of heart-broken fans who aren't getting in, place the tickets on the ground, douse them with lighter fluid, and *whoosh*.
