I don't know if anyone else was interested, but i ended up picking this up, and i wanted to offer some advice to others: if you get this thing, which is real, real sweet, don't bother with the nike armband. It's worse than useless. It doesn't have a screen and it's really hard to make changes to your workout once it's in the sleeve, so you end up setting everything and then putting it in the armband and then getting your headphones and then you'd really like to stretch a bit, right? so you go outside and by the time you're ready to get started the thing has reset and, because you can see the bugger screen in the armband, you have to take it out and start over and whatnot. then when you get to your goal of say five miles, the voice tells you to hit the menu button to stop the work out, but the she doesn't tell you that you have to hit the select button because the menu button just brings up the option of "end workout?" on the screen, so the workout keeps going and then you have this run on the computer that looks great until the last bit, when you started walking because you didn't realize that it was still keeping track, and your pace is all fuckedup. usually nike bothers to make a product that at least doesn't make your workout harder, which is why i was surprised.
this one looks like a much better choice.
in between starting and stopping though, the sensor itself works pretty well and the feedback in the middle is a nice touch. and the way that it records your times and distances is helpful.
