Just been told it's good. Since The Allagash is all that big woods and river west of me, maybe I should get some of this.

I read that as "All Gash" at first.

Sure, I'm up for trying a new beer. Nothing wrong with that.

I see there is a white gash, but I prefer something... darker.

Their slogan should be "Try Allagash...you know where those 14 migrant forestry workers went off the bridge....It's good beer."

A better slogan would be, "Put your mouth in some gash'.

The head on that glass looks like a Perry Como toupee.

Mainers "go raftin' up the 'Gash" all the time.

Good whitewaters.

I had two of these tonight which I smuggled in from Asheville. Very much a warm- weather beer in the Belgian White Ale tradition. Very crisp and refreshing. I would think that if I drank enough of them to get drunk, I wouldn't have a hangover the next morning.

RIYL: Hefeweizen, Wheat beers, Cider, Ginger Ale, Belgian brews done by fellas in Maine.

Was just reading it's brewed in Portland.

The Allagash via Portland is akin to someone from Nashville saying they're hillbilly.

I'm trying these, out of San Francisco. Image A friend recommended it. Tastes like Sierra Nevada's pale ale, albeit a tad sweeter and less fizzy. Pretty good, but man, I'm getting tired of beer being so expensive.

The alternative though is drinking Bud Light and dude, you're better than that.

Are you talking to me? Have you priced Bud lately? Me neither, but it ain't cheap.

It's funny- we went camping a few weekends ago, and someone purposely left behind a 24-pack of Bud. I said wtf, and took them home.

4 of those, and I was fucked up. What's up with that??? Weird.

Bud Light is always on sale here and can be expected to make a star appearance at any local Hawaiian outing.

And I blame your lack of committment to getting drunk regularly for your buzz after four Budweisers. :D

i dig all most of those, but especialy hefeweizen and freaking cidre.

best part of travelling in brittany was drinking pitchers of cider with dinner every night.

I'd like to know more, and I think I'd love to do marketing for a brewery. We have Yazoo here in Nashville. I love their Sly Rye Porter and their Hefeweizen is a nice domestic version, but doesn't really come close to the complexity of Flying Dog's version, "In Heat Wheat".

Do you ever drink Hinano?

we drank the shit out of hinano on our honeymoon in tahiti. it's really nothing that special, but i'd love to be able to find it around here for nostalgic reasons.

Not a big fan of wheat beers or Hefeweizen.

This thread makes me sort of despise the High Life I'm drinking right now. And I'm usually a bit of a beer snob; I just couldn't afford anything else...

As far as the U.S. market, it's only in Hawaii and Cali. I've never had it, but a friend of mine bought me a Hinano t-shirt during his latest trip to Hawaii.

Yeah, same here. This is the truth. I like the t-shirt though.
