The 1150.

Whichever one is the one with
an 80G HD
1 Gig of RAM
a DVD burner
10.6" screen

The site I linked to doesn't make the differences between the models that clear.

I just used the Notebook Review forums for all sorts of notebooky information. There's gobs of information and personal accounts on there on all sorts of machines, including a "What Notebook Should I Buy" forum and forums for a brazilian manufacturers, including Averatec.

Thanks. Yeah I've read some reviews. Mainly online magazine reviews. They are all very positive. Just wondered if someone had firsthand experience with owning one. :)

looks nice... maybe i'll check them out for my next laptop. but their "averatec recommends microsoft(R) windows(R) XP(TM)" can go to hell. i wonder if they're very linux-ready.

If I remember seeing them at Microcenter they were less expensive than some of the other brands which surprised me because of the size. Maybe the idea was that the screen size is smaller = less money, or maybe it was just a cheaper brand.
Make sure you look into the battery life.

Should I do it?

Is it silly to put it on that "12 months, no payment, no interest" thing? I'm certain I'll be able to pay it back in the next 4 months.

Am I just being a greedy little tech-head with a penchant for mini-electronics?

I swear, someone should by me one from one of those "Toys for Dad" Father's Day circulars.

Naaaah...it's smart. That way, if some unexpected expense comes up, you don't have to sweat it.
