I haven't heard it, and I don't really want to, but from what I've read it completely sucks ass.

I'm not expecting much from it other than its ability to bore the indie kidz. At least, that's what I'm hoping for. Johansen and Sylvain are (obviously) from a different era - and if they hold true to their roots in '50s rock'n'roll and '60s R&B and girl groups, then there won't be a Pitchfork reader who'll be able to hear a note of it.

But then again, Guitarist Steve Conte's got a mountain to climb. It's impossible to replace Johnny Thunders - his 3-note geetar anarchy pretty much created the Dolls sound - and I suspect (or fear) Conte's more traditional lead guitar work will leave the reformed Dolls sounding more like a G'n'R tribute band.

It really pisses me off that they'd release this under the name the New York Dolls. But I won't get into that again...

I like the live album. Quite a lot. This one, no idea yet.

Don't get me wrong - the New York Dolls are one of my favorite bands...ever. I'm just saying, I'm not really interested in hearing an album from two of the original members 30 years later.

without johnny thunders and 2 dead drummers the whole thing seems pointless.

And the bassist. But "without Johnny Thunders" is the key part of that sentence anyway.
