No one's brought up the Dutch lately. They look as strong as anyone to me.

I don't know about anyone else, but I haven't said much about the Dutch due to their next game with Argentina. I have sort of assumed that the Argentines will score at least two goals on Holland and the Dutch might be lucky if Robben scores again.

The old cliche 'a game of two halves' stands true.

I'm on the beers again, but for me the only person who prevented us from winning tonight was Mr.Eriksson.

Aaargh. Defence a bit confused. I see England beating Ecuador in penalty kicks after 0-0.

We've all said it before but Germany have no chance with that defence.

Oh, wait? That was England?

I wanted Ecuador to get put out because every time someone mentions them I hear that really crappy summer dance track from a few years ago in my head, you know the one that went "Ecccuaaador!!!" (Sash! 'Ecuador' 1997 apparently, thank you Google).

Anyway, I've changed my mind. It's got a good beat...

I have a question.
If the United States does actually advance to face Brazil, will you people actually cheer for the Yanks?

No, but I'd root for them against anyone else.

I always have to pull for the upstart African team. This Thursday will see a Lambchop divided against himself.

No

1. Because I'm Australian. I've got an inferiority complex to maintain here you know!

2. Now that we've played them and been far from disgraced, I want Brazil to play how everyone knows they can play. Frankly, them going through will make for far more watchable games later in the tournament than if America goes through.

That said, if you manage to pull it off I'll be the first to applaud the effort

Considering I'm American, of course I will.

For the neutrals...why not support the underdog. Anyone knocks off Brazil its all the better for whoever you do support.

2 really good ones coming up today with Mexico-Portugal and Holland-Argentina.

Should be fun.

Yep, both of those are in ESPNHD, so I'll be taping them and watching them later. Can't wait.

This Portugal/Mexico match is pretty good.

Portugal were destroying Mexico but Mexico just pulled one back.

2-1 to Portugal. Half an hour gone.

Mexican football.... sloppy midfield, huge lapses in defence, and then brilliant attack...

preciely harry...

portugal just looks so smooth. i'd be surprised if mexico pulled back all the way. i feel like prt is just doing what they want because this match doesn't matter.
