What is the coolest or most creative / bazaar item of merchandise you have ever seen for a band? What are some ideas for interesting merch items you think would be cool to see that are practical yet different?

t-shirts can never be beaten, but belt buckles are pretty cool. i think my favorite merch items are when two established bands are touring together and put together something that recognizes both. i think beck and the flaming lips had some noteworthy items when they toured a few years ago.

i heard that radiohead is selling greeting cards with thom's art at their shows. is this real? c'mon.

at the slayer show last saturday, lamb of god had rolling papers for sale at the merch booth. i guess if i was into smoking weed that'd be cool.

or you could roll your own cigarettes.

i bought a t-shirt from the plot to blow up the eiffel tower because it had a transgender topless person on it.

Wolf Eyes had these LPs on sale a year or two ago that was a laser disc and a piece of vinyl stuck together. The laser disc side had an etching while the vinyl side had some music.

The Chong Bongs at the Tommy Chong shows are pretty cool.

Guess he's probably not selling those anymore with the jail time and all though.

It wasn't merch, but in my old house someone had acquired a pack of "Five Sticks of Troublegum" from Therapy?.

my friend's punk band back in high school used to always have a giant inflatable penis at their merch table, signed by the band, for $500 but nobody ever bought it. the price was listed as "negotiable."

a chicago band called super 8 cum shot gave out twinkies and enema tubing at their shows. the wrappers had their logo on them.

Habitual Sex Offenders use to throw out condoms with their logo on the packaging:

Adding "cum shot" to your name. That's one way to avoid redundancy with a band from Spain.

4AD gave out these large-ish plastic hotel looking key holders (diamond shaped and in various colors) with information about Kristin Hersh's album "Sky Hotel" -- I like them because you can actually use them as a key ring plus it references Throwing Muses.

Busty and I had a good laugh at that when we saw them a few years back.

Everything else is just a cum rag, indeed.

Stuck Mojo had a T-shirt with their name on the front and "Friends Don't Let Friends Listen to Puff Daddy" on the back. I wear it to the occasional pop show.

I always wanted one of those Mojo Nixon garage mechanic shirts, with the "Mojo" name patch on front. Those rocked.
