fuggin rocked. one of my fave bands puts on one of the best shows of the year. it was hot as hell at the troub, and there seemed to be a greater than normal proportion of D-bags in attendance, but the music was worth it.

i highly recommend you catch them on this tour.

I thought they were good. Though, I left early cuz I was dog tired. Ended up chatting with the Troub's booking dude and owner's daughter.

seemed to be the theme of tonight as well... i was so irritated at one point because it was too hot and these drunk assholes kept bumping into me and dropped his beer and the glass broke by my foot. not fun. they put on a great show though - but there was too much lag time between songs... kinda killed the momentum at some points.

Did they play any stuff from 'Perfect From Now On'....? I'm still kicking myself for not seeing them on that tour. That cd has been in my rotation forever. I'm not missing them when they come to Pittsburgh in the Fall.

I noticed that when I saw them as well. Like they tune for a LONG time between each song. Very unprofessional.

Hire better guitar techs or something.

I have had plenty of opportunity to see them here. They played Omaha this spring and play Lawrence, KS quite a bit. I think they have played Wakarusa a few times.

I just noticed that they are playing the 40 Watt in Athens the night of the UGA/Vanderbilt game (homecoming, I'm guessing which means a noon start for the game); :rawk:

I smell big trouble already.

that's why i love my doc martens. last night at the boredoms concert, i was right up against the stage and when people shoved into me they were smashing my fucking uterus into the stage so i just bent my knee and kicked as hard as i could into the people behind me. they were leaning their hands against my back and pulling on my shirt and this little 12 year olds hands were too close to my ass for comfort.
if they weren't slamming me into the stage i wouldn't have cared so much. overall, the movement of the crowd didn't really put a damper on my mood, i guess its because my steel toed boots could kick the shit out of those cunts.

Yeah, they've always played a blistering song and then stopped and tuned for about 5 minutes before the next song. Kinda seemed like seeing a guy really stoned just lost in the tuning... Keeps a kinda of non-show biz cred, but on the other hand saps the energy out of a set.

Could be why I didn't feel guilty leaving their set early. Too bad really, but that's cool, at least I saw 'em. :)
