that is by far the worst 2006 release that I have heard. And it must be me because it's getting good reviews.

I dunno.

Scott Walker is an acquired taste.

I haven't quite acquired it.

it's kind of strange...it seems like they're taking a trip through musical styles from the late 70's & 80's to now.

I don't know if allmusic is considered the end-all be-all, but they say 2005. And I remember hearing about it last year.

My list so far, some of these albums haven't been properly released. No actual ranking.
1. The Dears "Gang of Losers"
2. Cursive "Happy Hollow"
3. Sleepy Jackson: Personality:One was a spider, One was a bird
4. Figurines: Skeleton
5. Deadstring Brothers
6. The Stills
7. Islands
8. Band of Horses
9. Thom Yorke

I'm sure M. Ward will make the list once I hear it.
I'm also waiting to hear the Chad Vangaalen and Eric Bachmann albums

I played it for a couple of days straight a few weeks ago and loved it. Time to revisit. Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah, it does appear to be an '05 release. I'll sadly strike it from my list. I shouldn't have questioned Radcliffe.

I believe it was rereleased this year by a larger label. But originally 05.

It was released on another indie label in early 2005, then picked up by Bloodshot and re-released in 2006. I think it was released late last year in the UK as well.

Stones, retro, whatever you want to call it, it's damn good.

You've had Destroyer at the top of your list for some time now. I think it's time I find out what all the fuss is about.

Starts out a little slow but hits you over the head eventually.
