It's OK.

For me, though, it contains some moments of embarrassment that haven't been seen since Pablo Honey. Different kind of *oof* though.

I listened to it for the first time all the way through this morning. It is a decent album, but not great. The highest rating I'd give it would be a 7, the lowest would be around a 4.5.
I was expecting a little more from it. To me it was a rehash of the techie songs on Amnesiac and HTTT with more Autechre and Boards of Canada thrown into to the mix. While I like Thom Yorke's voice, it doesn't do enough to cover up some pedestrian lyrics and weak instrumental parts on some songs.
I would say that overall it is comparable to a Broken Spindles album, and since I have Radiohead on a higher pedestal than The Faint and Joel Peterson in general, I was expecting more.
I realize Yorke and Greenwood like all the blips and bleeps of IDM, but I was hoping they were a little more experimental and used multiple genres on their solo works.

i seem to be the only one who really likes the album on this board.

"black swan" and "harrowdown hill" are my favorite tracks.

err, add me to that list. i finally got around to listening to this today and i really enjoyed it immensely. maybe it's a time & place thing - i dont know if i could listen to it when i wanted something a bit more *up*, but it fit my mood.
in my mind, & with my tastes being what they are [fickle fickle fickle], it's hard to create an album i find interesting that maintains a somber tone yet still makes my feet move.
plus i love thom yorke's sense of melody and the way he uses his voice like an instrument [rather than a lyric delivery device] more often than not.

after a few more listens, i like it, but it somber, maudlin consistent cadence doesn't excite me much as something radiohead proper. seems like these are kid amnesiac outtakes recorded by thom solo while the rest of the band was out for a pint.

probably won't make my end-of-year top 20 and i'm a huge radiohead fan.

Listening to it right now. Judgment to come in about 41 minutes. First track sounds pretty good though.

I was totally prepared to be arrogant and cutting about this whiney little shit and the expanision of Radiohead-Lite... but heard him interviewed on NPR yesterday and heard parts of several songs. Seemed pretty close to beautiful. I guess I'll get it.

I bought it Tuesday, but haven't listened to it yet. My wife took it in her car.

Seconded in just about every way. I purposely stayed away from hearing even a hint of this before it came out just so I could go into it as "pure" as I could and was really, really surprised at what I got. I really figured it was going to be noisier and much less cohesive and melodic. This is a really beautiful album, especially if you're into the Kid A sound to begin with (which I am.) Can't say for certain, since it is only mid-July, but this will probably be in my top 20. Very dig it.

I'm really into Morr Music (Styrofoam, Lali Puna, B. Fleishmann, the Go Find, Isan, etc.) so I'm kinda partial. I could also listen to Yorke sing through a phone book.

The bass work is also amazing and recalls acts like PiL.

I very much like.

Just checking...
