I feel like that National son: My mind has gone loose inside the shell.

And the first Guinness tasted fine, this one tastes like poison.

I got off easy this week. Last weekend's two-dayer was truly epic. It was real trainspotting stuff.

Heading down to 'A Taste of Saskatoon' to go get what passes for BBQ around here Loog.

I scraped my throat vomiting a month and a half ago and then had to spend the next 8 hours driving home. I haven't been able to get quite drunk enough for a hangover since.

I had it bad on thursday, and have taken it easy since. Tomorrow's got potential (durunk potential), but hopefully I can rein in my beer-guzzling impulse.

I had a few Newcastles and several unidentified mixed drinks (prepared by a trustworthy friend). I feel so-so today.

Mike, you're not a bad-looking guy but let's face it--no one wants to slip you a mickey.

Got back a little while ago from the festival in the park. There was about 20 restaurants who had set up booths all down by the river, prices were pretty reasonable too, considering the large portions. First off, I ended up having a chipotle chicken wrap, which was excellent, lots of cheese, peppers, black beans. I would have preferred a bit more heat, but chipotle's not really about heat but flavour, so that's okay.

Next, I had an fucking incredible bbq pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw; It was messy, messy, messy, but jesus christ that was that good. Now I haven't been down south yet so my bar might be a bit low, but I have been to Maui where I had a pulled pork from a pig that was slow-roasted in the ground over three days. Not surprisingly, that is my bar for pork excellence. If that was a 10 on the pork scale, this sandwich was about an 8 as the vinegary coleslaw and bbq sauce created an unholy alliance of flavour and bumped up what would have been an okay sandwich to a great one.

Last but not least was this gourmet NY hot dog with all the fixin's, drenched with buttery sauteed onions, cheddar, mozza, ketchup, mustard and more onions. That was very, very fine. I should have taken a picture, it was pretty impressive.

Now I'm going to sit down and probably fall asleep or go into cardiac arrest. Therefore red wine will be consumed before the above happens.

Sorry, that's not what I meant to suggest. It was more along the lines of "my friend John didn't dip his balls in the glass multiple times or put Listerine in there."

I can't drink for another week or so. Being on heavy-duty antibiotics interferes with one's drinking, it appears. Save me a spot at the bar.

I don't really have a reply for this, but I feel as though I should.

So, I'm going to go with something along the lines of:

No balls OR Listerine? I don't know why you're okay with that.

There was some Scope and taint sweat in there, if it makes you feel any better.

(I've had avatars turned off for several months so I didn't even think about the Listerine connection)

Pshwa... Scope. I guess. I mean, if that's all that's available. ;)

(I figured it had nothing to do with me, but still thought I needed to say something)
