Thanks Tommy, now Loogs'll see this and I'll feel obligated to get him a groomsmen gift...

Asshole. :bitchslap:

So, are your nuptials with the girl going to be prior to the Senator's?

Otherwise, why not do a dual ceremony?

Best one I ever received = a nice dartboard, close second= bottle of nice singel malt scotch

I gave autgraphed baseballs from everyone's favorite teams, but three of the four of them played baseball with me in HS and the other is a major fan, so like Loog said earlier there was a definite connection.

Like the backgammon set idea, and the box set idea if your boys like music as much as you.

The only time I ever served as a groomsman, I got a Swiss Army knife. I don't remember exactly what I gave my groomsmen (GHWB was still in office, man, so cut me some slack), but it was something equally lame.

Let's recap. Men appear to enjoy:

1.) knives
2.) booze
3.) things from which to drink booze
4.) parlor games (backgammon, etc.)
5.) knives
6.) things with their names engraved on them
7.) shaving kits
8.) baseballs
9.) watches

Did we miss shoeshine kits?

I haven't gotten shit for being the personal attendant in two weddings. :( And I am damn good, I kept everyone happy, things running smoothly and kept potentially embarassing relatives relatively sober.

I have seen lots of jewelry for the bridemaids, usually given by a bridezilla as a "suggestive" what to wear on the big day.

Lots of flasks and leathermen for the groomsmen. Best groomsmen present? All the groomsmen were smokers and they received one-hitters with the date of the wedding engraved on them (no name for obvious reasons).
