It's really nice looking. I still don't feel like i really have a feel for its actual size (despite the ingenious dime trick).

That's what, a 2-carat sapphire?

you mean the ingenious trick dime. I have no idea what size the sapphire is, i'm still waiting for the appraisal.

I just clicked that picture link. A friend of mine gave his fiance almost the exact same thing recently. Veddy nice, cotton, veddy nice.

(You get gold or platinum in that band?)

gold. While the urge to demand "ice" with the jeweler was overwhelming, I decided to go a bit more traditional.

it doesn't look overwhelmingly large--but "good" large--at least in what i would think is mlle's opinion. it just looks like you have a setting that raises everything up a little. plus because it's three round cut stones it has decent width across the whole setting. good job, the redworm, it's a beaut!

edit: the missus just walked over to look and you got the mlle seal of approval. wuite a prestegious honor ;)

For some reason, I think chuck(e)d will beat Rodney to nuptials, pt. 3. chuck(e)d will beat everyone here to that level of matrimonial experience.

Meh. I'm done with my own stupid stunt. However.. couple of things for you to consider

1. ERW is ridiculous.

2. +483795948

I'd be more concerned about the quality of the diamond rather than the size - past a certain point anyway. But then, I have tiny hands. And I'm also not really a fan of claw settings for that same reason and cos I have a tendency to bang my hands on things and I would likely break one of the claws and lose the stone.

Looks good though, and not tacky.

And get that insured NOW

Oh, and congrats!

big day. I'm glad the ladies approve.

I'm taking off lunch today to stash champagne in a state park and marinate a pork tenderloin. good times.

Imagine if you were just walking around the park one day, and you happened to stumble across a bottle of champagne? That would be pretty sweet.

heh heh. guess so eh?

It's obviously an important thing to commemorate with something that means something to both of you...etc. etc. but

a) i'd never want a diamond --- not with the way that industry goes down.
and
b) the meaningfulness of it all would mean a lot more to me than the $ value, in fact I'd feel pretty weird suddenly having some kind of expensive "bling" thing.

(IMO) (Although I respect different peoples' beliefs or choices re: all this... it's such a personal thing)
