I don't know, I didn't pay much last year - my main output was liquor and beer. Other more sober minds could prevail and give you a price range for what they spent during sxsw.

Depends who you're seeing. The showcases can get pretty expensive, I think the Wolfmother/Presets/Annie/Jose Gonzales/Pink Nasty show me and Shawn went to was like $30. I don't really remember the exact price but I didn't think I'd be going to too many more shows if it was going to be that expensive. I seriously had more fun at the day shows and they're usually all free.

I'm thinking about trying to get a wristband this time.

Shiv, that GARmada is CLASSIC, bro.

When I went in 04, I paid for a show at Stubbs the first night and then I scored a cheap wristband cos my boy was in the film fest. Had MUCH MORE FUN knowing I could come and go as I pleased. I reccomend that route.

I should've capitalized it but I'd already finished and I'm not used to Photoshop yet, but thanks.

You did, Jon. You're a TRUE pal, especially when others who shall remain nameless (ahem...COLIN!) bail on you without saying anything and start walking home drunk.

I've read the whole thread and all I remember is that Colin has a king sized bed. Now, correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't he a little bitty thing?

I'll need a photo.

I'm sure something can be arranged in room 206 -- our fine soundproof suite that Bloor has already secured with a massive infusion of credit from teh Sawtooth National Bank. ;)

I think it depends on what hotel. If you want something close to downtown, I'd try and get something soon though they're pretty expensive. I booked my hotel earlier this year at the end of january and everything went fine, though my hotel was like 5-7 miles from downtown which was kind of annoying if I wanted to get drunk.

Sweet, thats good to know that i may be able to book in Jan, have some saving to do first.

I was thinking of buying a week unlimited greyhound ticket and either kipping in the station or take a short trip somewhere every night. Need to find out if the station is cose to downtown.

You don't need them. You can get into any show you want without the wristband (nee "bracelet").

I'm 90% there as the company is picking up the tab for me to go this year.

I'll tell ya, this year there were a LOT of shows with huge lines outside of the venue. At one point, not even my pass allowed me instant entrance and had to wait in line with everyone else.

No bracelets or buying single show tickets for me. It's all about the pass.

I'd really like to, but Red isn't putting out, so the chances aren't good.
