I thought it was funny when he said it. I can see where it would piss you off, but it is Booty's fault. Brent should have had better judgement in saying it on National TV, but you can't fault a broadcaster for wanting to share something interesting.

That's just retarded. Why is USC being a bunch of bitches about it, especially when Pete Carroll doesn't seem to be too bothered?

The Big 12 hasn't really whined, since I think the commissioner of the Big 12 is the current head of the BCS. Plus, they have benefitted from the BCS poll recently with Nebraska and Oklahoma making title games they probably shouldn't be in, so the Sooners are basically alone on this one.

I didn't hear a peep last year when Oregon didn't make a BCS bowl.

Actually the TV people are often privy to a good bit of what might be considered "inside" info about the teams in the games they are calling. It helps them to be able to understand and anticipate things that happen during the game and create a better [sic] broadcast for the folks at home.

Brent's mistake is how he presented this inside info. Like an idiot.

You didnt think that entire day of meetings that a broadcast team does with the teams the day before was to hear about they mamas, did you?

Good point. The LA Times article made it sound as if Tessalone is the only one who really cares.

I don't see how Booty is to blame when it is common for information to be shared that DOES NOT make it on the air. The info is basically to help the commentators identify stuff before it happens. Musburger just slipped up. At least he didn't refer to Emmanuel Moody as a "dark skinned storm trooper".

PS. Brent Musberger is about a half-notch above Joe Buck.

When are the Ducks going to stop borrowing uniforms from the local Rollerderby squad?

That's because they gave up caring about the BCS in 2001, when they and Colorado were beaten out by Nebraska by .003 of a point or something like that. Plus, It was a good thing they kept quiet since they lost their bowl game. They didn't want to end up looking like Kansas State in 1998.

"YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD... YES!"

seriously, what's wrong with hawk and dj? yeah, they're homers, but i think they also give a lot of credit where credit's due and have good insight. how many 2-man broadcasting crews both have MLB experience? not many.

the homer level exceeds anything ive ever heard. its just atrocious. maybe i am going to far but i hate them. i used to hate the braves announcers as well but they have really toned it down.

I think this is stupid. Anyone could catch on to this! Every time he gives this hand jesture, the ball goes to that receiver. It's not hard to figure out. It's like when Favre used to do the gesture where it looked like he was smoking a joint and it meant that receiver needed to stop at the line and expect the ball immediately after it was snapped. I figured that out after about the third time.

the tbs crew is still the broadcasting crew that i dislike most, even though it seems more games than ever this year were on turner south. they didn't really have a lot to go crazy about this season. i mean, they couldn't even talk too much trash on the mets, other than "well, with that kinda talent, how good of a job is willie randolph even doing?" and then someone must've reminded them that the same went for leo mazzone for so many years, so they stopped.

Did anybody catch the McCarver bit they did on Family Guy this weekend? Classic! As was Weenie and The Butt, as well as Dingo and The Baby. Oh, and heroin-fueled tattoed and pierced whorehoppin' modern-day Charlie Brown.

Mazzone's genius wasnt necessarily with the Maddux and Glavine's of the world but also with recussitating the careers of pitchers who were DONE (John Thompson and Jaret Wright being the two most recent examples); through a pitching philosophy and a system involving off day throwing.

And truth be told, Maddux is the only one of those pitchers that Leo didnt mold, and he did a lot to help him as well.

But you knew that since you know all about baseball, right?
