My review:

It was good.

Okay, they were awesome. I was blown away and I think ayah was as well.

Ending the show with 'People Who Died' brought teh rock.

I can say all this despite busting my knee up (before the show on the sidewalk -- I'm all sorts of graceful) and nearly passing out during the show. I stayed, because I'm hardcore.

SO QUAL! I have seen them do that as well. Glad you girls liked it.

my review:

so i turn the corner to get to pearl street and see dozens of teenagers standing around smoking. like babies. there were kids there that played with my son when he was little. met up with stacey out front and we're freking cuz of all the kids. oh, and this weird lesbian who chain smoked and relentlessly paced up and down the block.

so we go upstairs and the room is filled with middle aged men. the average person at the show was a 35-45 year old male with a baseball cap and new sneakers. this had me wishing for the teenagers who were attending some all ages show in the downstairs venue.

bottom line is i don't really give a shit. i wanna hear some music.

dbt:

nice lil' band you got there.
i had a great time. they were raucous as hell and seemed to really enjoy themselves. not overly chatty on stage and they would just play one song after another without having to bask in applause every five minutes. i hadn't heard a lot of their stuff but loved the fact that several songs had metal riffs in them.

the slower stuff was meh. they didn't have enough of the dark, disturbed devil in them to pass it off for me. when they did their 5 minute speed metal country version of people who died as their final encore i thought my head was going to explode. too fucking good.

and yes, stacey did almost pass out. i, of course was having too much fun to be concerned. she slid down and sat on the foot rail of the bar and i thought she was just tired. i found out later that she well...almost passed out and it wasn't from alcohol consumption whoich would have made me feel much better about ignoring her.

ayah's review was way better.

And I basically just wanted you to know I got home without driving off the road. Not sure what happened, but it was near the end of the show and they were brining it and I knew that was something not to be missed. Unless, of course, I actually passed out.

Glad you guys had a good time. The crowd make up notwithstanding I've always felt that the Truckers have tried very hard be intelligent southern rock and really get that over to their fans. I've been to shows where they've stopped mid-song to call people out for getting into a fight.

ATL Folks:

Looks like they will be playing a 2 night stand at the 40 Watt in early November. FYI.

Not sure, Tanny. I felt fine as soon as I sat down and getting fresh air helped once the show was over.

I hang on every word, especially when you're about to pass out.
