- Rave was underground and---*gasp*---cool

- Bjork was known by only the Sugarcubes fans

- Photoshop didn't have: "layers" or "history"

- 100mb storage media was the size of a cd case and cost you $100.

- No one had Email except computer programmers

- All my music was still on Cassette

- DVDs were science fiction

- "Alternative" still meant alternative

Hmmm, let's see...

Vinyl accounted for 80% of our store's sales, 10% being cassettes, 8% being accessories, and 2% beiing these compact disc things. Only classical music nerds bought cd's.

The Oilers ruled the NHL.

Reagan was coherent.

There was only one decent car manufactured in the USofA, the Buick Grand National.

REM could still be seen playing a local college or high school gymnasium.

David Byrne was only 1/6 the asshole he'd eventually become.

Sigourney Weaver had only made one decent film...okay, she's still only made one decent film.

James Woods was uber-cool.

The Jam were going to get back together any second now.

In 1992...

A naked Boris Yeltsin straddled the 120mm gun of a T-80 main battle tank and shouted "Fucking Chechens!" while waving a four/fifths empty vodka bottle in the air.

The Church of England voted to allow women to become priest for the first time provided they refrained from gossiping during the sermon, wore only "God approved lipstick" and did the dishes and generally cleaned up after the Christ Our Saviour coffee mornings.
