has anybody else seen anything on this?
there was a reference to it on melodynelson.com as well as a few other spots online.
and i know these rumors have been circulating for about the past 6 months, starting in late july...
but c'mon, really?
this would be an even bigger shock than the pixies, quite honestly.

yeah i said something about this the other day. the rumor i've heard is that morrissey and marr are on board, but the other 2 are not. given that, i think this could just be idle speculation, but the timing sure would be right if they do in fact go ahead with it.

i mean, i'm not all about the benjamins, but come on...how could you turn down this kind of thing, given the success of the pixies?

Morrissey is planning to release a live album and a dvd this year. Those are a pretty good way to wrap up a solo career.

Random Notes
Someone was kind enough to send me an email that reads: you can take this with a grain of salt, but i just talked to the box office guy at the glasshouse (a venue owned and operated by goldenvoice). we started talking about coachella and he told me he saw the lineup at the offices. he said NIN and david bowie were headlining day one. i said how is that possible? bowie flat out denied it. and he said i dont know cause both are definitely on there. wilco is also confirmed for day one, as is the arcade fire. he said coldplay is confirmed for day two along with bright eyes, the faint, and more saddleback bands. he also said he rememebered seeing sigur ros on the list but wasnt sure if they were for sure confirmed. i dont know if you should even bother putting any of this up since he's not anyone official at GV, but i just thought you might like to read it...
Bands with a # after the name were all first mentioned on ProductshopNYC

Bands with an * after the name are all mentioned on that hoax list that made the rounds back in late November (although Coldplay was added by the press). But many of these bands are still being mentioned and besides, even an incorrect rumor is still a rumor, and I'm trying to be thorough here, dammit!

Policy on email confirmations: They are accepted on good faith (the feasible ones, that is), 'cause it doesn't really make any sense for anyone to lie. Click on 'explanation' for details on the email received and decide for yourself

Bands that were added in the most recent update are in red

Also, since this list was last updated, Gang of Four have confirmed...
We'll know next Monday for sure.

Yeah, Smiths Reunion, that will happen!

They all hate each others guts.

There was a point a few years ago when Johnny Marr and Morrissey were on friendly terms again but all that went out the window after the Court case, when Morrissey blamed Marr for not fighting Mike Joyce and infact shifting most of the blame on him.

Morrissey will never, ever, ever, ever, under any circumstances work with Mike Joyce or Andy Rourke again. A Morrissey/Marr collaberation is only slightly less likely.

If this happens I'll eat my hat which is 100% Acrylic/Polyester. And I can't imagine that's to tasty.

That would be fuckin amazing, but, I doubt it.

And then Morrissey will get sick on the day of the show and cancel the show.

Smiths reunion?

You're more likely to see a Blue Nile hate thread started by Frostingspoon.

The only reason I'm looking forward to this is that they either
a) All die when their tour bus rolls over and down a cliff
b) All get electrocuted on-stage a la Stone The Crows and no one realizes they're not doing some herky jerky dance until the stench wafts over the crowd
c) Some crazed fan jumps on stage in a hooded sweatshirt, screams, "You broke up Electronic!" and starts shooting.

Heaven knows they'll be miserable then.
