It's been waaaaaaaaaaaay more than 4 hours. I better get to my physician. No matter how this thing turns out, what a friggin' late season run/Cardinal collapse. I really think Houston would make a better playoff team now, considering their pitching and lack of injuries. Other than Pujols, the Cardinals really look done.

This is beginning to rival the 1964 Gene Mauch-Phillies collapse.

The title of this thread has 'parody thread' written all over it, but i'm not feeling witty enough to come up with anything remotely good.

Living in St. Louis and being a Cubs fan, nothing would be sweeter than seeing the Tardinals not make the play-offs.

I'm a long time Cardinal fan, who doesn't really care for baseball besides following them, but I agree. If the Cards would manage to make it to the Series, they would just get swept again. The Central sucks anyway this year, so their representative is most likely going to take a beating in the first round. I really wish the Cards would invest in some pitching and a few more small ball hitters next year, now that they resigned Walt Jockety as GM. I like LaRussa, but it might be time for him to step away or make a change at the Pitching coach.

The total absence of wit has never stopped an author of a parody thread before.

Shit, as soon as I turn on my Cards, they start killing the Brew Crew while the Stros falter against the Braves.

Cards win
They now lead by 1. 5 games with two games left.

They're just making the inevitable collapse that much sweeter.

& in answer to FT, this would be a bigger fall from first than the '64 Phils, because they lost a ten game lead in the final three (?) weeks. Meanwhile, the Cards had an 8.5 game lead in the on Sept. 20.

Cards just clinched at least a tie, so the Asstrolls have to win tonight.

I would love to see the Phillies and the Astros in, and the Cardinals and Dodgers sitting on their ass at home. But it's not looking likely.

I'd like to see the Cards have to win their make-up game with the Giants if it actually has to be made up. I'd also like a tie breaking game between the Twins and Tigers

Dodgers & Padres locked up playoff spots. Now, to determine who wins the NL West, and gets to face St. Louis/Houston, & who wins the wild-card, and gets to face Pedro-less Mets.

But, yes, the Phillies got screwed. That game-turning Utley homer-non-homer in the Nats game -- did the ump not hear the clang? -- prolly was the difference. Fuckers.

Fucking Cards win it despite losing last game to the Brew Crew. Thanks Braves for giving them that one and the Astros a loss.

What sucks the most about how this has all shaken down is it likely means Putols (intentional typo) takes MVP over a MUCH more deserving Ryan Howard.

Oh, and is it just me, or has Clemens choked every single time the Astros have desperately needed him to have that ONE huge game? His career stats as an Astro will look good, but I, for one, will remember how he laid turds at the absolute worst possible times.

He went six innings and gave up one earned run. That's choking?

I had only seen that he lost that game 4-1. Upon reviewing the box score based on your post, I stand corrected...THIS time. Still, he's a turd.
