9am tomorrow morning, The GF and I will be off for the next 6 days and 5 nights to the beautiful Iberostar resort in Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic. I was here last year and can't reccommend it any higher. Got the Ipod loaded, the portable DVD player and flicks packed away, and have confirmed withthe hotel their TV's get ESPN for Yankee playoffs. Oh Mama!

hmm, i actually think i've stayed at this place.

i was 7 or 8 and met some kid who wore a headband that read "RAMBO" and we ran "missions" around the hotel, pool, and ocean for days. it was pretty crazy.

Damn, B. I'm jealous. I can't wait to finish up on my current work engagement in the middle of November.

I could use a vacation...sigh.

I just had a 10 day vacation, but I didn't go anywhere. I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything I thought it could be.

My vacation will take place next weekend when I leave to visit my mom for three days. It should be outstanding if the husker game ends up getting televised.

The only way I'll ever get a vacation is if I offed myself.

I have not had a vacation of more than 1 day in 2 years.

When I have quit jobs, they have just paid me cash for my accrued vacation time, and I turned around and paid it towards my debts.
I've got a vacation scheduled for December. 2 weeks in Sweden. Woo hoo!

- Too much Presidente beer, Margerita's with fresh squeezed limes, Bahama Mama's with too much rum, among other mixed drinks we were given....

- a half hour monsoon type rain storm each afternoon for about 30 minutes each day.

- tandem massages by natives on two different occassions.

- sunburned shoulders about half way thru which ended my all oput tanning sessions.

- swallowing too much salt water. ugh.

- snorkeling and taking amazing underwater pictures of reefs.

- a trip to the emergency medic and sitting there for two hours with an IV in the arm, as the 5 star water and rich foods eventually broke ya down ... (hint: it wasnt me)

- driving the back roads of the dominican republic thru some of the most poverty ridden area's on "paved" one car roads at 80mph, trying to catch our plane.

- reenacting many scenes from 'planes tranes and autombobiles' as the plane was forced to circle NY for a bit cause of torrential rain storms; the bus taking me to thecity breaking down and us switching to another bus on the highway. standing in the pouring rain, trying to grab a cab home, and finally, walking three blocks to the subway in shorts, sandals, and two big bads in a torrential rain storm while on the phone with my dad asking me about my trip when i keep telling him that i will call him back when i step in my door.

all in all, it was a wonderful time!
