What ever happened to the mystery of Jack's father's missing body?

Anybody else notice how they left Libby out COMPLETELY when they did the recap last night? They even skipped over her death and just focused on Ana Lucia. Something fishy about that girl, methinks.

They also left out Shannon and Boone. They're dead, and probably not important in season 3, so why focus on them.

Jack's dad is totally gonna pop up this season. mark my words.

I thought that was weird too honestly. I was especially surprised they left her out of the scene where Michael shoots Ana Lucia and himself.

People were watching Evangeline Lilly on Ellen Degeneres in the breakroom at work this morning. She was a lot goofier than I expected. Like your pretty, weird tomboy sister or something, instead of a TV babe.

I hope they replay tonight's episode -- I really need to look into getting a DVR.

I read somewhere that Boone is gonna be in a flashback this season.

That episode was very focused and absorbing. It only felt like half an hour long to me.

Yeah, that was a pretty great opener. I think I'm gonna have to go and reread Walden Two.

I think the biggest mystery introduced in this episode is why a CD with Petula Clark's "Downtown" was inside the case for what was clearly Speaking in Tongues. I mean, come on!

And it was a DualDisc!

Edited to add: And the DualDisc isn't a Speaking In Tongues - it's Son Volt's Okemah And The Melody Of Riot according to the detail freaks at http://www.lost-forum.com. Just a weird little detail. Probably chose the disc because it was blank (why not a blank CDR?) - but still, why the Talking Heads case?

you can watch it on abc.com for free.... i FINALLY got tivo (how did i live this long without it?!) and the episode seemed shorter than normal. the opener made me so curious, man i can't wait until next week.

i thought that it was snoresville, but i am pretty tired of jack/sawyer/kate altogether, and way more interested in the other people left behind.

Yeah, it seemed like they were packing in more commercials for the big premiere.

I thought it started with a bang and fizzled a little at the end, but was overall satisfying.

INTENSE

I had mixed feelings on the episode. Jack's backstory in particular is turning into a bit of a soap opera. But the Others in their Del Webb community was pretty awesome.

Yeah, I agree. The Jack backstory added nothing. We get that he's stubborn, and has had a difficult relationship with Dad. That's been fairly obvious over the past two seasons, please move on to others.

Yep. We really don't need any more twists and turns in Jack's story or any added complexity to his relationship with his father. Really, we don't need much more on any of the characters as far as backstory is concerned, except maybe for what happened to Locke's legs (or did we already see that?).

I guess one possibility is that the island brought Jack's father back to life, but I really, really hope they don't do that.

It was a good episode otherwise. The "Del Webb community" was awesome.

we still haven't found jack's dad's body on the island.

i don't like the obvious slant of juliette's character... im sure she'll get more complex, but we all know she's jack's new love interest and that she and ben had a "thing."
