I guess giving a plug for GAL and WKRP are what it takes to draw me back out of the woodwork. Some of the others are nicely accounted for.

Get A Life
Arrested Development
WKRP In Cincinati
Mash
Seinfeld
The Office
News Radio (with Phil Hartman)
The Simpsons
Malcom In The Middle
In Living Color

Radcliffe list looks a lot like mine but I'm glad he picked The Young Ones so I can screw up my face in disgust and then disagree vehemently.

'The Young Ones' was more original and innovative but 'Bottom' was actually much funner since it was basically 'The Young Ones' minus the two unfunny characters (Neil and Mike like you had to be told).

5. Newhart
/quote]

I have a few Bob Newhart albums which I love but I've never seen his show since, as far as I know, it was never shown here.

It's only available to buy in NTSC format which means I can't watch it.

I can't believe nobody has The Cosby Show, I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, or The Honeymooners.

Are shows like Stella and the Daily Show really funnier than all of these?

I know I've seen a couple episodes of Stella and, even being a huge fan of Wet Hot American Summer, didn't find it funny at all. And Daily Show's funny but I wouldn't put it higher than any of these sitcoms.

The Stella Shorts are a lot funnier than the tv show was.

1. Arrested Development
2. Good News Week
3. The Games
4. Seinfeld
5. Curb Your Enthusiasm
6. The Office UK - haven't seen enough of US version
7. Newradio
8. Absolutely Fabulous - not sure how it holds up though
9. People Like Us
10. South Park - not that I was ever a regular watcher. Maybe that's why I found it consistently funny

The one episode of Chapelle's Show I've seen was great - really need to get it on DVD
I also find The Glasshouse funny most of the time, though it depends a lot on the guests and how annoying Dave Hughes is being

There really aren't many comedies that I like though - I'd only classify half as sitcoms (and couple even then are too subtle and cynical to really fall in that category), a few are satirical 'documentaries', one's a current affairs-based gameshow...

In no particular order, as they occur to me:

The Simpsons
Monty Python's Flying Circus
I Love Lucy
Beavis & Butthead
South Park
Kids In the Hall
Saturday Night Live (1975-79, 1982-86)
The State (although I was stoned most of the times I watched it, so that warrants an *)
All In the Family
Sanford & Son

EDIT: The Flip Wilson Show!!!

I'm gonna forget a ton of shit, and I know there's a bunch of stuff that I may or may not still find funny now.

1. Simpsons (up until about '98-'99)
2. Seinfeld
3. Newsradio
4. Arrested Development
5. Kids in the Hall
6. SNL (until the early-to-mid '90s)
7. South Park
8. Family Guy (prior to this season)
9. Chapelle's Show
10. Mr. Show

I haven't seen Newhart or Get Smart since I was a kid, but I used to love them both. Also, I haven't really seen enough of the Office (UK) or Monty Python's Flying Circus, but I guess they'd both probably beat out KITH. That show really hasn't seemed very funny to me when I've watched it recently.

Here, here. I was heartbroken when they didn't keep their promise to make a third series.

did they make that promise? I would love to see that.

I saw a preview for Big Fuzz the other day and it had promise, to say the least.
