What the hell is there to say?
that was an ass-whupping of the highest order.
All of a sudden everyone is jumping onto Chicago's bandwagon; it's not like other teams will stand by and just watch them waltz to the Superbowl. Bills were weak yesterday. And this is not the formidable '85-'86 Bears.
Couple of points:
1) Bears had the easiest schedule this year by record
2) Bears play in the weakest division in the NFL
3) Bears play three home games in december
Therefore, it's very difficult to imagine the Bears going anything less than 13-3 at this point and possibly 14-2. This has nothing to do with how good they are. This has to do with how bad the NFC is and how easy their schedule is. They are not playing anyone good with the exception of the Patriots and Giants, both on the road. I concede both of those losses, and possibly another loss somewhere to a division rival. Next three games are @ Arizona, vs. San Francisco, and vs. Miami. If there is an easier path to 8-0 from 5-0, I don't know what it is.
I am fully onboard because barring injury, they will probably clinch home field advantage throughout the NFC, and I cannot see any other NFC team beating this team at Chicago in January. Last year (and in 2001) it was very apparent that they were fluky. This team is flat out scary to watch. They took everyone out at the start of the fourth quarter yesterday and put all the backups in. If they hadn't, it would've been 55-0 or 60-0.
Seattle without Shawn Alexander should've still played some defense, unless I'm missing something and he also plays middle linebacker, defensive end and defensive tackle for them. With Alexander they
might have scored 10-14 more points. Which means the bears still win by 17-20.
