Well, i've been using it since god knows when. Sometime in high school...

Is it tired? Is it dumb? Do you like it? Is it even possible to retrain me? If so, can i have a new phrase to swap in for it? If so... what?

It's not that I don't like "Dig It." We've grown extremely close over the years. I just don't want it to get played out... and it might already have happened.

At first I thought you were talking about the Mock Turtles song.

i'd known of phil's "dig it" before meeting him and i was actually a little disappointed that i didn't get a steady diet of them when we did meet a few weeks ago. i'll put that to there being an actual band playing instead of full conversation, but i'm a user too. stick with what you know.

I'll consider it. A friend just suggested "Well hot damn."

I like dig it cause it's short, and can be swapped into a conversation for yes or no. Well not really, but people seem to understand when i say dig it, but mean yes, or no.

slightly outdated slang = personality points...

besides "dig it" is more of a check it out/ I'm serious, wheras "Hot Damn" is more of an "I'm surprised" thing...

Dig It = when you say something,
Hot Damn = when someone else says something incredible...

Personally, I like using "I'm not shitting you" or "swear to god" though, after typing that, I'm kinda wierded out that those 2 are basically interchangeable...

I've taken to 'medigs', but you're welcome to do whatever you're comfortable with. I voted 'fuck no'.

I like it, and have even adopted it somewhat. Dig?

It makes me feel like Jimi Hendrix or something...righteous soul brotha.

Also,

Well, slap my ass and call me Sally!

Gnarly!
Groovy baby!
Amen, brother!
Right on!
Get out of town!
Mmm Hmmm
Peachy keen
Gotcha

Hope this helps. Have a great tour, Phil.

Keep it. It's better than 'Do it!' That Dodgeball ripoff should be retired. I even catch myself using it. A little more originality plz people!

"Dig it." is just too closely associated with you to ever be retired, Phil.
When you die, I expect it to be on your gravestone.
In fact, that would be awesome!
