the first movie was based on the first, third and fourth books/story arcs that Frank Miller wrote. They left out this one (A Dame to Kill For for whatever dumbass reasons, but apparently they've been waiting to start shooting because the 2 directors desperately want Angelina Jolie for the title charachter and that would mean waiting until after she had her baby, because there is a lot of sexin' in the role. Other returning characters would be the Clive Owen's Dwight, Mickey Rourke's Marv, Michael Duncan Clark's character. Rosario would be in it for a little, as would Jessica Alba if only in the background.

I'm curious who they would cast in the other role.

Ex Machina and Y The Last Man are being made.

I saw something on Starz the other night about some cult director being attached to Desperados but I missed who it was.

as an action movie i thought that it was pretty great, as an adaptation i think that it missed a lot of the introspection that made the book so good. however, i was pretty drunk and, judging from the synopsis on themoviespoiler.com, i don't remember all of it. Also, unabashedly drinking a great divide IPA in the front row of a movie theatre is not smart but is a lot of fun, and i think that standing up the the tyranny of open container laws is what the movie was really all about.

Watched it last night and was impressed with the fact that they pulled off most of the points from the book. Many of the shots even were the same as the comic.

Hugo Weaving's voice was perfectly suited, and while I wasn't sure about Portman, in the end I really came to enjoy her presence in the film. Effects were pretty good, nothing over the top (besides cool trails off the Sai's in slow motion).

I'd recommend it. Very timely, though it was planned as such.

same for me. a friend of mine saw it and told me the writing was very dense, so i went into it paying sharp attention and latching on to every word.
