but I've noticed a trend in guys in my age group. As my friends are reaching their upper 20's into their 30's, they're completely boxing out of their weight class and winning. I'm not saying they're froggish men, but they are pulling some ridiculously good looking women.

I think it has to do with these women wising up. Or maybe it's just a case of lowered standards.

you know what's weird though? I always thought my husband was the best looking guy I had ever dated, and it's true... he's really good looking. Women check him out all the time, friends tell me how handsome he is, etc. So for a long time, I thought *he* was the more attractive one in our relationship. But I also know that it's not always about looks in finding someone attractive... and that's the only way I can explain that in our individual lives, I have way more friends than he does. And I'm also finally starting to understand that personality is way more important than looks. Furthermore, to beat a dead horse, I think being content with one's self, and showing that confidence, is DEAD SEXY. People who are happy with themselves are always going to attract people in their lives-- friends, lovers, whatever.

Dudes usually care more about the looks. If the guy is cool and intriguing, then maybe you can grow to be attracted to him.

Here's a saying I always throw out there: Men love the women they are attracted to and Women are attracted to the men they love.

My ex is not what someone would call physically attractive, but I was really into her regardless. Like others have said here, once you really get to know someone, the physical attractiveness is less important that what's inside her head. Mind you, I also have a quirky sense of who is beautiful. I think Rosie O'Donnell is amazingly hot.
