I may be late to the game on this but just now saw that Jeff has a solo tour DVD coming out at the end of the month. Here's a preview of Sunken Treasure:

already pre-ordered it when first announced. Really wish it would've been his eastcoast and westcoast tour rather than just the west.

I saw half of this last night. It was entertaining. I'm not a fan of concert DVD's, but this had a little bit of a doc feel. I especially like how the director never shows the crowd at each venue. It makes for some interesting/artistic shots on a pretty banal stage performance, you know, just a guy and his guitar. Some good banter with the crowd as well. A keeper for me.

The DVD comes with free downloads of mp3s of the all the songs, too (actually two more than what's on the DVD.)

If you've only seen half, you're missing the best of it. You have to see Laminated Cat through the end, where Glenn and Nels come out to join him. Jaw-dropping good.

I thought this article on Tweedy doing a private charity show was pretty cool.

Yeah, he's been doing this for a number of years. Most of the winners of the private shows are a group of people from Via Chicago (fan Wilco board), who get like 30 people together and each throw down a grand.

I have a few bootlegs from a couple of the shows. He's animated as always, and even does some fun covers.

My wife and I were going to try to get into one of the pools in our biggest Wilco-fandom but never did.

Just saw them at their WilcoFest (aka Solid Sound Festival). The first night was all covers (requested by crowd ahead of time). From the opener of Boys are Back in Town to them playing my request (Marquee Moon), it was amazing. Not too many bands like them, just a great blend of top musicians, not taking themselves too seriously, an interest in music, not just their music, and a willingness to go their way in the face of criticism.

Yep. They did a "Stump the Band", bring up random audience members to ask for songs, see if the band can play them. One was Cranberries Dreams, forget the other (they couldn't play either), and third (I am pretty sure this was a plant) requested Daft Punk / Get Lucky

You can purchase and download the covers concert they recently did from their site. 27 songs for $12.00 I'm not a huge WIlco fan, but I will have to get this:
