Oasis doesn't need Liam. Noel is a perfectly good singer and actually has a voice that is very similar. Liam is just dead weight. And Noel writes all the damn songs, anyway, so Liam is not needed for that.

Prince doesn't need ANY of the members of the NPG, except for touring, I suppose.

Oh, I knew that was coming!
I just didn't expect it to be the very first post.

I don't know. Half the fun of Oasis is Liam.

Agreed. Noel doesn't have the same quality that Liam brings. I couldn't imagine him singing 'Supersonic' at all.

Didn't Oates co-write some of the songs?

What? That guy is the best thing about the bosstones not that he has a lot of competition

And I love the story about how it all started. He was under 21 and it was the only way they could think to sneak him in the club.

Oates wrote "She's Gone" all by himself.

Still, it's fun to make fun of him

And truth be told, Sara Allen probably wrote most of Hall and Oates hits all by herself.

he gets a pass for the extra guitar on their unplugged performance.

Wasn't he also filling in for Kurt's guitar on tour since at the end Kurt was so gone mentally he couldn't really play?

Isn't this list really a compliment to the useless member. Because obviously these bands wanted them for how cool they were as opposed to how good they were. Like the dude who played bass for the Beatles or what would become the Beatles before McCartney.
