This will get bashed on this board.... but 15 years from now this will be listened to while 90% of the board's top twenty will be forgotten. And not because of the socio-politico artifact status of the lyrics... rather because of the crunchy guitars, the folk music melodies, and the hungry Neil-classic vocals.

I agree. Right now the lyrics are a bit strident, but with remove of time the music will stand out.

no this would also be forgotten, if i hadn't forgotten it already. dear god, tell me that when i'm 50 i won't be listening to the same things that my dad was when he was fifty. I already have "no jacket required" on cassette.

Yeah it's depressing... I am still listening to fucking Miles Davis and Mozart just like my Dad. Dear god.

This wasn't as bad as I feared it would be based on initial descriptions (as rule, I generally hate choirs), but I haven't gone back to it as often as I usually do to with his work. But it's still Neil, so I'm obligated to listen.

It's hardly his worst work, but even the "best" songs have a few problem areas, including (but not limited to) awful lyrics and annoying backing vocals. At best it's a D+ record.
