Ryan Adams Releases 11 New Albums: It's Either the Stupidest or Awesomest Shit We’ve Ever Heard

Published: Friday, December 01, 2006 Prolific musical schizo Ryan Adams has posted 11(!) new albums under three pseudonyms on his befuddling website, Ryan-Adams.com.

In the “Cardinal Radio” section of the site, fans can stream the records created by Adams under the monikers DJ Reggie, which he uses for his dance-rap music, The Shit, used for his up-tempo boot-stompers, and WereWolph, used for his oddball, grumbling hardcore. Included in the ridiculously large collection are several Christmas songs (“Xmas Nuts,” “Cokey Christmas,” “Rudolph the Reznor Reindeer”), a bounty of ridiculous tracks (“Space is Big (Whatever),” “Sexfuck,” “Unicorns (Prob. Don’t Exist),” “Throw Up on the Moon,” “Blackhole Fuck Samwich”) and even some covers (Creed’s “Higher” and Shania Twain’s “Your Still the One”).

Stand-out lyrics include “Midget with a hacksaw/Minor-league baseball/Wheel of Fortune,” from the mind-bendingly strange “I’m Going to Kill Myself in the Face.” It’s also impossible to forget the hook “Space is a big fuckin’ area/There’s like a bunch of stars and galaxies you’ve never even heard of” out of your head. And we’d be remiss not to mention the genius opening lines “Pink is not your color/Made of Metal/Pink and brown go good together/ Fuck you,” which Adams delivers in a sinister metal growl that makes him sound like the spawn of the devil himself on “Pink is NOT Your color.”
