yeah, i heard about this yesterday. i'm surprised they jumped 20% so quickly. i'm still holding out for a couple things that've been on my to-buy list - especially imports. my fingers are crossed.

Hit Tower last night in the Village.

The have the 40% off all CD's plus an additional 20%. Not horrible at all.
Choices are becoming thin though....

Harley Poe || In the Dark
The Robot Ate Me || Good World
Sisters of Mercy || Floodland
Sisters of Mercy || First Last & Always
Dragonforce || Inhuman Rampage
Dragon Force || Valley of...

spend bout 45 bux on all these...

Still only 50% of CDs at the Wabash store. The store is becoming depressingly empty.

Same here on both accounts (except for 70-80% with rap).

I picked up:

Mission of Burma - The Obliterati
The Black Angels - Passover
Scott Walker - The Drift
Beans - Only (70% off)

i went to tower on wabash last night. i was a bit thrown off because the electronica section is between hip hop (70%) and singles (also 70%), but there were no signs saying how much off they were. (ended up being 50%) i picked up one of the soulwax hang the dj bootlegs and an ocean colour scene singles/b-sides/live show 2cd/dvd set.

Local Tower was 50% off for CD's (a few select up to 70%) & 40% off DVD's. I couldn't find anything and yes, it is depressingly empty. The Hip Hop section was Outkast's Idlewild & about 50 artists I've never heard of

I will make one more runm to the big one in Long Beach

Wishful thinking? I thought the message was 60% off and restocked. Guess it was just restocked, huh? Damn it.

DVDs at the wabash store are still just 40% as of last night. that section was definitely stocked, though. and it was probably the most crowded area of the store then.

Everything 50% off, averages out to $8.11 each.

Aereogramme - Seclusion
And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Madonna
Boris - Amplifier Worship
Camper Van Beethoven - New Roman Times
The Capes - Hello
Clearlake - Cedars
The Clique - Sugar On Sunday: The Definitive Collection
Cluster - 71
The Cosmopolitans - Wild Moose Party
Cracker - Greenland
The Czars - Goodbye
Kiki Dee - Love Makes The World Go Round: The Motown Years
Chris Difford - I Didn't Get Where I Am
The Dream Syndicate - The Days Of Wine And Roses
Secret Machines - Ten Silver Drops

They said they think they'll be open at least another 2 or 3 weeks, which is good because I still have to go through F through Z. You only live through the death of the record business once; might as well splurge.

one of chicago's independent stores closed at the end of november with a one-week 50% off sale. and it happened to be just four blocks from the good tower. let's just say i spent a lot of money in that area last month.

All CDs at least 60% off here. It's getting kinda empty, but I'm still finding a decent amount of worthwhile stuff (like some formerly expensive imports).

Yestderday I picked up:

Slowdive - Pygmalion
M. Craft - Silver & Fire
Cabaret Voltaire - Red Mecca
The Vaselines - The Way of the Vaselines

Pretty much all of the good jazz stuff is long gone now.

Just spent $115 on 14 cds, too lazy to type them out. There are probably only about 4 things I'd buy later, assuming they are reduced even more. Sign said they are closing on the 17th.

edit: make that 16 cds for $115. dude gave me two for free. plus five cd cases for free too.

Goddamn, I'm going to hit up the two Tower Records we have here in Hawaii today.

If there's $2 cd's there I'm going to break the bank.
