All you naysayers about Jet can keep to yourselves cuz tonight, they put on one of the BEST shows this year!!

First of all, it was at Spaceland -- the very first time they performed in the US was on this teeny tiny stage. So, it was a nice way to take a trip on the Way Back Machine and see them there again. Only 200 tickets were sold to the general public. Completely sold ut. I, of course, secured my spot right in front.

Secondly, it was a semi-acoustic set with nice little Christmas lights about. Gave us all a warm and fuzzy feeling. Having Chris (drummer) up in front doing lead vocals was a lovely touch.

And lastly...the special guests, a song at a time, took the stage:

. Three gospel singers who performed on 'Thriller' (couldn't hear their names) backed 'em up on several songs.

. Slash...yup, fuckin' Slash took over lead on one of the tunes. I always thought he was tall, the dude is short!

. Chris Robinson, sans Kate, sang with the gospel ladies and sang his lil' stoned heart out.

. Steve Jones. Fuckin' Jonesy took the stage like a resurrected Elvis. IN.CRED.IBLE.

Then, they ALL took the stage and the audience went mad!! Truly, an amazing performance by everyone. I'll post photos later along with the setlist. It's 1:40am and I have to get up in less than four hours.

Steve Jones just talked about last night and what a "special night" it was. And I have to agree with him, Chris Robinson knows how to belt -- great voice!

Since when do we pay that much attention to Pitchfork? The new album is fairly decent. But I'll tell ya, these guys bring it on live. They seriously are good! And c'mon you've gotta admit, having ol' skool Black Crowes, Sex Pistols and Guns n Roses represent on a tiny stage with the band was pretty fuckin' incredible.

Jet play all star show in Los Angeles
Slash and Black Crowes team-up with the Aussies

Jet played a star-packed club show in Los Angeles on December 10.

Performing at their favourite venue in the city - and the home of Club NME: Los Angeles - Spacelands, the band were joined onstage by a host of local talent, including former Guns N Roses guitarist Slash.

Opting to play tracks from their albums 'Get Born' and 'Shine On' that do not usually feature in their live set, Jet ran through the likes of 'Radio Song', 'Timothy', and 'Come Around Again' before being joined by their famous guests.

Firstly the band recruited the Waters Sisters, who sang on Jet's last album, for 'Shine On' and 'All You Have To Do', before being joined by Slash.

The velvet revolver man linked up for a cover of the Rolling Stones' 'Salt Of The Earth'.

The Aussies were then joined by the Black Crowes' Chris Robinson, who sang on 'Be My Baby'.

The singer then performed a cover of The Faces' 'Miss Judy's Farm' with Jet, which also saw Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones - now a Los Angeles radio DJ - joining in.

Jet concluded their all-star show by returning to The Faces, getting all their guests back on stage for a roof-raising version of 'Ooh La La'.

IMO this sounds awesome.

Some great covers there. Salt of the Earth?!?!? Jesus.

I wouldn't have made it to work the next day.
