Wolves in the Throne Room is an interesting #1. I enjoyed it for a bit then lost interest.

Best list I have seen yet.
Thank you for including some music that does not typically run in a lot of hipster indie circles (i.e. Kelly Joe Phelps).

PS - The Brother Kite pretty much is my favorite new band. I was totally floored by their new album. It is far and away my favourite rock album of the year. Keep spreading the love for this band!

I share everyone elses' sentiments. Lot of stuff on there that I'd never heard of before, but quite a few that I now want to!

That Norfolk & Western especially. I hope I can find it on soulseek.

oh guys thanks so much! haha, i'm blushing and smiling.

As for Bloor, I thought I said in that that thread that I was going to use that description for my top 50. If not, I apologize. I was thinking "is he gonna want credit for this?" the whole time I wrote that review, haha.

but really, thanks guys.

I'm not really on soulseek anymore, i could probably log on if you guys wanted it and share the folder all of these are in.

And credit goes to Radcliffe 100% for The Awkward stage.

What a great list. The writing is great...you have a good way of explaining your personal connection with the music, which is interesting, but also helpful as a reader to understand how an album makes you feel. Definitely helps to have the RIYLs, too. Thanks!

Oh, and how ironic is it that one teen camp counselor in Portland can out-blog a entire staff of TEN "experienced" internationally-dispersed twenty/thirty-somethings? I bow to Andy's greatness.

I figured I was inaccurate on both counts, Andy, but it was funnier to just go with the wrong data and let it roll.

For some reason, I always think of the movie Meatballs whenever you post. That whole camp experience of yours is permanently ingrained in the Ob-conscious.

I blame lack of coherent editorial style, no deadlines, and most of all OPEN INCOMPETENCE of the staff.

How many of your "contributors" are even literate?

Hell, Bloor and I had to come with a fake radio show just to hide our shame of having TEH ILLIGERATE and TEH DUMB.

Good point. But I hired my staff intending on writing directly for our Dexter Manley-esque target audience. Gumps read Gumps.

fuck typos, it's honest and interesting reading andy. better than a large portion of the bullshit people get paid to write in shitty mags.

you did a killer job on this bro.

Whoa. Super cool, Andy.

I echo what everyone else has said and add I feel exactly the same regarding the Damien Rice.

When you said "all" I took it too literal, didn't know if you had or not.

The reason I asked, however, is because that would be one of the only boards that would have heard a lot of what you have listed...
