I like elephantstone's original pick. Maybe it's because she's closer to my age than most others. I think Dean Wareham is fortunate enough to be "with" her at the moment.

I respectfully disagree with all of you.
I HOPE you'll forgive me...

at the Tsunami Benefit show I went to on Friday with the Dandy Warhols & Colin Meloy, there was another local band, The Upside Down, and the girl who played bass was sooooo fine.

I went to their website and she looks gross though, so I refuse to post pictures.

Agreed. The drummer is an animal. If you've never been to Athens there is this small townie bar downtown called Lunch Paper (not even sure if it's there anymore). It is essentially just a long bar with a handful of tables along the wall opposite the bar. I saw them play there once and am pretty sure I did real damage to my hearing that night. They also liked to take lighters to the little action figures and barbies that they had on their amps during songs. They would just burn them and let the melt. Good times.

I will say this one more time:

Maura Davis of the no longer Denali. hubba hubba. Plus she's from Virginia. That makes it even better. It means there's a chance I could meet her. haha

The only good thing about seeing Denali live was her. Sounds and looks fine.

i've met her. she's just like any other girl that you'd run into at the video store who's creeped out by this sort of lechery. and hey, i always thought that denali's drummer was pretty good too. i haven't seen her new band bella lea yet.

Thanks for the link. Based on the first two songs, I'm digging it more than Denali. Then again, I loved the frst two Denali songs I heard, and ended up not really digging them after I heard the rest of their songs.

I might check this band out when they swing around here, though.
