How you liking that Honeydogs? Don't recall reading any comments. Hope you like it after all the times I went on about it here. Guess they don't have a very big following around these parts. Or maybe they just aren't as good as I think they are

It finally arrived in the mail today, two weeks too slow for the Shmoo poll (not that my vote would've helped any). First reaction is that it exceeds my expectations. The Honeydogs have shown remarkable growth over their last 3 albums.
Seen A Ghost was undistinguished 2nd tier alt.country (sold it), then
Here's Luck added a sweet Lennon/McCartney melodic sense to their sound (loved it), and they've continued the upward trajectory with this new one. In a lot of ways,
10,000 Years sounds like the album I've been waiting for Jon Brion to make. In other words, I'm liking it a whole lot. It's criminal that it's got such limited release.

What's your favorite PJH? I've always been partial to the raw and dynamic sound of the first one, Dry, but pretty much like them all.
I liked
Dry a lot, but I thought the sound quality was abysmal. I've never been able to figure out if it was bad mix or if I'd fluked into buying a flawed disc. Otherwise, I give the nod to
Rid Of Me or
Stories From The City... - but, really, she hasn't put out a bad disc IMO. Although I still think her best is yet to come.
