not so fast, my friend. they just let go of buck showalter, which means they should be an early favorite to win the world series if history repeats itself.

Is there any chance some baseball purist will go nuts and take bonds out with a sniper rifle before he breaks the record?
I think the only thing that will make this season interesting for me is watching to see if he is indicted before he breaks the record and possibly detained while at the ball field.
Other than that, I doubt my Cards will repeat the fluke of last post-season with the pitching staff they have this year, and I'm not a big enough fan to follow the whole season or watch a full game on tv. I'm all about Baseball Tonight on ESPN

That's true. Nothing harkens back to the history of breaking home run records than death threats.

If it didn't happen to Hammerin' Hank, it'll never happen...not even to BALCO Barry. I mean, there was probably not a single man other than MLK more wrongfully villified by Evil Whitey. Don't you realize how many death threats Aaron received while chasing the record?

But you signed sorry ass, buster ass Sammy Sosa so if nothing else, you are karmically eliminated.

A signing I was (and still am) 100% against. The Rangers truly are the Clippers of MLB.

I know Hammering Hank was despised for beating The Babe, but the wackos today just take things a little bit further.
Plus, while I actually do not wish that he dies, a Nancy Kerrigan style attack on him would save us alot of embarassment when he breaks the record and Bud Selig refuses to publicly recognize his accomplishment.

But the fact that he's about to pass 600 HRs will sell some tickets, and considering he's only 12 away he should be there by, oh, September.

A Barry Bonds death would be one of the very few even less tragic than Anna Nicole.

Omaha has the Royals Triple AAA team, which basically makes them equal to the Royals since the KC sucks pretty bad and they have Triple AAA talent playing MLB

Do people count down to opening day of baseball?

It's weird. We're right next door to each other and our countries have so much in common but sometimes there's such a culture gap.

Geezuz, Harley.

Baseball is the only sport I'm unreasonable about.

So, yes.
