I know you probably didn't mean it, but this statement comes across as you speaking on behalf of Canada.

Tribe will be interesting to watch this year despite Keith Foulke's retirement. Thanks for nothing, Boston!

i think i might actually pay attn to this season of baseball. i haven't really followed closely since the yankees lost to arizona all those years ago. i kind of got disillusioned with the whole sport after the near strike at the end of the 02 season, but after going to a mets doubleheader last year (against the giants in which i taunted bonds mercilessly from 3 rows behind home plate) i got back into it a little bit. i'm thinking of rediscovering my mets roots and pulling more for them. i have a really hard time rooting for the spankees anymore.

I don't know how things work south of maybe the Carolinas, but baseball to New Englanders, Opening Day Baseball, is the light at the end of the tunnel regarding winter.

Winters can be endless and, by February, very depressing. Spring Training is our real Groundhog Day and Opening Day is real spring.

I'd imagine Chicagoans feel a similar way, plus there was always the "Next Year" aspect for the long-suffering Cubs fans.

The voice of Harold Reynolds used to be a sign of spring to me. Now whose voice will I rely on to tell me baseball's coming?

I think most Canadians would give an "ehh" when asked about their feelings toward baseball.

Although I'm sure it's the opposite with hockey.

If anyone can slouch their way through the NL central this year, it's definitely the Cubs. Considering how meh the Cardinals were last year....

Plus, what pitcher in his right mind would want to face this: Soriano, D.Lee, A.Ramirez.

Funny, only A-Ram doesn't strike out a lot.

I know. I was mainly taking a shot at Soriano. And cocky Cubs fans.
