I watched the Florida State game what, just last week? They have this terrible habit of freaking the fuck out for no real reason.

That said, they are better than the Army-Navy basketball game I in the past two weeks. That was like watching the Washington Generals scrimmage.

c'mon fu...they are 22-7 and they've won 5 in a row. they are putting it together at the right time.

you gotta at least admit that it's the best team gary's had in years. they are a far cry from "sucking so bad this year"

Gary opened up a whole assload of problems after winning the tournament. Something seems to be missing, and I don't mean specific players like Lonny Baxter or Juan Dixon. Hell, even Steve Blake or Steve Francis. Everyone seems hot on this Vasquez kid, but he's only a freshman.

Everyone knows Gary is going to go batshit crazy during every game and lose his damn mind. In those two years where they went to the Final Four & then won the tournament, the team seemed to be built more around guys who knew that was Gary's schtick, so they would shake it off and go about their business.

I don't see those guys anymore. God, in that Florida State game, in the last nine minutes of the first half, Terps went cold from the floor. It happens. At that point, rather than settling into an offense and trying to get a high percentage shot, it was almost as if the ball had heated up to 1800 degrees and was burning their palms. Just firing the ball from all over with no rhyme or reason. Of course, then Gary freaks, and they got worse.

I can't really explain it, which will only be complicated because I haven't watched nearly as much basketball the past two years as I used to. So I may be totally wrong. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from that FSU game.

i'll be first in line to smack gary around for totally shitting the bed after the national tourney, but things might've turned aorund here. i missed the FSU game mind you, but today i saw a different gary. in the post-game interview, the man almost broke down and showed actual emotion. seriously, he had to pause to collect himself.

vasquez is good and will only get better. this kid osby is the real deal (hauling in like 10 rebounds in 10 minutes and totally neutralzing hansbrough). and dj played lights out today...which i know is surely a fluke. we'll see if they can keep it going this wednesday at cameron.

Of course, another complete Terps vs. Duke collapse is always a possibility.

Vitale was especially awful tonight. He kept stepping over the play-by-play, even after the mention of a radio-style broadcast.

I damn near turned it off and flipped on HFS for their broadcast, but I didn't.
