The Departed was entertaining, but got retarded.

Yeah, of the nominated movies, Iwo Jima was my favorite. Tristram Shandy was probably my favorite from last year though.

The best picture nominees I've at least heard of now. But I have no idea what any of them are about.

Letters From Iwo Jima is a war movie, I guess. The Departed looks like a cop flick. Babel and The Queen I know nothing at all about. Little Miss Sunshine's the only one I'm actually interested in seeing.
