I don't take Rudi that serious as a candidate for several reasons:

(1) Law & Order is about the only issue where he's really a conservative so I find it hard to think that the core of the Republican party would really back him.

(2) Even if NYC is our biggest city and he was a great and beloved mayor, a mayor running for President is almost like a dogcatcher running for Governor. He'd be a much more serious candidate if he'd run for Senate or Governor like some folks wanted him to.

That said, if no new big repubs jump in the race, who knows who will be their candidate. I can't really picture any of the other current announced candidates being one that would really rally the party either.

Yeah, they dumped out of it on radio but it made it on to MSNBC--i nearly spit out my coffee.

Yeah, it was awesome. I laughed so loud femgar heard me from teh shower.

also, dunno if y'all are watching Hardball, but Craig Crawford(?) just dropped the biggie: Obama's poll numbers are the worst among people who "would never vote a Muslim."

If you want I will teach a course in polling later, but let's just say that should give you a big peek into how he gets taken down in either the primary or the general.

And, I kinda can't look at this with just my heart, because at this point, who is elected/nominated when and where effects my livelihood.

Balls on!

Exactly. I'm also kinda fascinated by him. I feel that I have fucked up, too - and have managed some pretty spectacular deceptive feats in negotiating myself around some pretty big potholes.

I enjoy watching him duck and weave as shit falls down around him. Not out of schadenfreude, but maybe out of sick empathy.

I don't remember doing that. If I did I apologize - I wasn't under that impression at all.

Loog is just hitting the only play button on his controller, as always, and I was just hoping he'd try and explain it (like you did). It'd be cool to get some rational thought out of him that didn't come with Fuck You sauce all over it.

Here's a fuck you to all that, with a side order of LooGAR's patented reading comprehension course:

I know Bloor disagrees, but I like Rudy. I also think Rudy should hang a lantern on his problems: WHY THE FUCK DO WE WANT A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER IN THE WHITE HOUSE?! He could fuck a black prostie on the white house lawn for all I care, I like someone willing to go to mat with these swine, no matter who these swine are. Dude took on the mafia, union corruption and all of NYCs various fiefdoms, and when teh chips (and BUILDINGS) were down, homie did his thing. I am a fan.

I think this explains why I like him.

i'll admit i'm biased vs dumya, but what has he really done for U.S., for the record?

Ummm...Harding, Hoover, Grant, Johnson (Andrew)

Bush is not the worst president.

However, Cheney is the creepiest vice president I could ever imagine.

Not that I know who all the vice presidents were. Most of them, but not all.

Good news for people who might think that the Republican Party could do a lot to fix itself by simply ignoring the Jesus freak wackjobs--- Christian Right Labors to Find ’08 Candidate

Strangely good news indeed.

If the GOP doesn't have someone to mobilize those tens of millions of evangelicals, they're fux0red in 2008.

Of course, Hilary will probably do something silly like burn a bible during her acceptance speech, so there's a good chance the Dems will end up losing anyway.

I'm considering it.
