I haven't done much traveling, but I could probably say that Orlando is the worst city I've ever been to (yeah, worse than Montgomery, AL, even).

Having lived in both, Orlando is only worse because its 100% plastic. There are some parts of Montgomery that are still authentic. Authentic garbage, but authentic nonetheless.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly it.

I've never been to a place that was more pre-fab or devoid of any genuine personality than Orlando.

Prolly NYC, but I'd much prefer to live in Austin or Portland for the vibe, despite the fact that neither has the sheer force of available performing bands/venues. Of course, I'd've said something similar about Boston at one time or another and I can't get out of here fast enough.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly it.

I've only visited both, but I'd rather never have to return to Orlando ever again unless I was being paid to be there.

I'm at home in both Chicago and New Orleans.

When I'm in Chicago I miss New Orleans, and vice versa. Music seeps from New Orleans - you can't escape it. In Chicago you get much more variety, but it's a bit sterile in comparison.

Plus, Kermit Ruffins plays every Thursday night at Vaughan's in the Bywater.

So with that said, anywhere but Florida....
