Anyone who has a BestBuy reward Zone account, should check their email if intrested in presale tics. I got a link today for The Police presale tics in Philly and picked up 2 . My bank account is now 214.00 less than it was 10 minutes ago..

$214 doesn't seem so bad for a reunion show, unless you're in the upper deck of the linc, or something.

I hate stadium shows (who doesn't?) & normally wouldn't pay anywhere $100 per ticket, but I made an exception in this case. Landed 4 100-level seats, 4th row, for Giants Stadium.

At the very least it's a Sunday afternoon, tailgating with a bunch of friends. Still have 5 months to change my mind, though

i wonder why all of these shows seem to be in baseball stadiums. i mean, they're at wrigley in chicago. something about that doesn't seem right, but maybe they're trying to make up for when jimmy buffett played.

i helped my buddy here do this last week. 2 tickets for $500, and he's probably gonna end up getting at least $1500 for the pair.

Apparently, they tried to get them to do the Super Bowl this year, but they'd already committed to Prince. Then when they asked The Police if they'd consider doing it NEXT year, they were told "We're not gonna be around this time next year".

Sure sounds like this is a one-off deal...if you ever wanted to see 'em you better pony up the dough.

They were my wife's first-ever concert... Ghost In the Machine tour at a 1500-cap. (or so) venue in Northern Michigan.

I am so damn jealous of that.
Because, yeah, stadium shows are fucking bogus.

I wished that they would at least pretend to do this with the aim to produce some new material. In a NYT article, they said it MAY lead to ONE new song. Not that the new music would be great, but it would be a little more palatable as a reunion.

Looks look geography is going to keep me from seeing them anyway.

I don't know how I did it, but I just jumped back in and got 2 tics for the lawn this time..If I can get the one set to pay for the other and go for free, I'm a happy camper..

Fuse, I hear what your saying..This is basically a $$$ tour, and they will make a killing but they should maybe pretend it's not all about the loot and make up some shit like "It's for the fans"..

All I want is a killer live DVD out of this that covers their whole catalog. I don't care if they record any new music - probably prefer they don't because it can't possibly live up to their past and Sting would insist on adding lute solos anyway. Come on, you know we'd just get Synchronici3.

I don't even mean this as a knock of the Police, but do you really want new Police material? When the Pixies got back together, weren't fans happy that they would be playing the old stuff rather than touring in support of a new album?

Just because there isn't new material do we have to be cynical about it? I think it would be great if the stones and who would learn this lesson and stop putting out new and lesser material and to tour instead doing shows of nothing but their best stuff. When you have new stuff you obviously have to play it to promote it.

That's just a selfish fan's perspective. Obviously, who am I to tell someone not to pursue their creative muse, even if it isn't as strong as it once was. I wouldn't complain though that they are sticking to the material that people know and want to hear rather than putting out something new that might not be up to their previous standards.

That said, I hate stadium shows and wouldn't even consider going to this.

good call. "bam thwok" speaks for itself. the reunion formula should be: reunite, reap rewards in the current concert market, save some of the money, disappear again.

I hear you. It just seems like the first time that I've ever been intrigued to see a band that had absolutely no pretense at creative endeavors (weirdly, I've never been a Pixies guy). In my mind a live show is an extension of people who enjoy playing and writing together. Obviously not the case here.
