After recording an EP and touring with Calexico, as well as taking time off to rear his infant daughter, Iron & Wine principal Sam Beam has wrapped his next studio album, "The Shepherd's Dog." The 12-track set is due in late September via Sub Pop and will be supported with a two-month fall tour of North America and Europe.

Don't remember a thread on this, so I apologize if this is a repeat. But I'm really excited about this!

so that it's within stumbling distance?

hey, i'm just catching up after having to work the night of the 17th when you tore the house down.

see - that was some excellent drunk-typing . . . hardly any syntactical or punctuational errors in sight.

He's had a great run so far which worries me. No artist is immune to a mis-step.

For this type of music he's one of the best though IMO.

"Our Endless Numbered Days" is one of my favorite albums of this decade.

i didn't really care much for iron & wine with their first album, but i've gradually liked them more with each rekkid. his last collab with calexico and album proper were both pretty good.

so count me in.

My comments on this dude from a few years ago:

I am keeping Iron and Wine, though I have NO IDEA why..maybe I will need to be lulled to sleep by the cooing of a bearded mountain man sometime in the near future?
