Well you've got old school rockers like: "New Orleans is Sinking" or maybe "Little Bones". (although that first one is technically from 1989)

or you've got the newer, more poetic but still intense stuff: "Nautical Disaster" or "Bobcaygeon"... both amazing songs.

Jeebus, who knew I was actually into "the hip"... you'd think I was a 20 year old college football dude from Northern Ontario.

But then again... as another great Canadian band put it: "It's not the band I hate, it's the fans".

Nautical Disaster is the best Hip song I have ever heard.

This is hard for me because they're easily my favourite band, but I've got to vote for 'Little Bones' (Road Apples) or 'Locked in the Trunk of a Car' (Fully Completely), so yeah their best stuff has been in the 90s for sure. I suspect that 'New Orleans is Sinking' (Up to Here) is their most popular song. However, for latter period Hip, 'The Darkest One' (In Violet Light) and 'It Can't Be Nashville Every Night' (In Between Evolution) are pretty stellar as well, and I'll throw a vote in for 'In View' off their latest as well.

Here's a fuller list of my own picks for the best Hip songs.

The Hip puts on one of the best live shows I've ever seen.

In the interest of keeping that mix thread alive, I'm going re-up my Hip sampler tonight.
