The Libertines reunite onstage in London
Pete and Carl bury the hachet at Hackney show
2 hours ago

Pete Doherty and Carl Barat have reunited live onstage in London tonight (April 12).

The Libertines' pair played their first songs together since 2004, during Doherty's second solo show at the Hackney Empire.

The concert is currently continuing, but you can follow the action as it happens by going to our special blog now.

Meanwhile, check back on NME.COM later tonight for a full report straight from the venue.

Plus send your photos, videos and gig reviews from the night to news@nme.com with Pete as the subject and we will publish the best.

In the meantime you can relive last night's show (April 11) on NME.COM now.

I dunno, I still have hope that the boys will sort it out and deliver a new album. Fingers crossed.

I feel like these idiots do this every 2 years when people stop caring about them again.

I'd love for them to get the band back together, and for Pete to not sound like he's been living in a beer-soaked ashtray, and for them to record an album together, and for that album not to suck.

But by then I'll be all for it.

I'm mostly meh on this, but I'm honestly glad it makes you happy and excited. I guess I would react the same way to hearing that Ian Mackaye and Co. are finally going to another Fugazi album.

very much so. But they're a media frenzy all the time and I'm still gonna be skeptical of Pete's abilities at this point.

meh. The last libertines albums was far, far greater than the sum of its parts. the babyshambles stuff just sounds so half baked to me, as easy as it is to say that.

Yeah, I love Down in Albion, much more so than Dirty Pretty Things actually.

while i love the Shambles album, i can definitely agree here. The Libertines s/t is without a doubt one of the best recordings i've ever heard and will be hard to match.

this reunion has me, and many others i'm sure, wondering if there will be new recordings. as fucked as Pete has been over the years, i really do feel he has it in him, especially with Carl's help and guidance.
