Tomorrow, we'll be joining the LooGAR's in Athens, GA for this:

[img][650:320]http://www.drivebytruckers.com/images/img_great_home.jpg[/img]

They've apparently just added Spooner Oldham as a guest keyboardist for these shows and the rest of this tour. I'm pumped.

The Steve Cropper of the keys.
(Yeah, I know Cropp was with Booker T., who also played keyboards, but I'm referring to the minimalist perfection of Spooner's playing.)

First and foremost sleep though. I've only gotten a total of 21 hours worth over the last five nights so I'm looking forward to being able to do so for like 12 hours or so.

The first time I've been to a NASCAR race since I was about 9 years old and Richard Petty was still racing.

I have full access passes that will get me into any area of the track INCLUDING the pits.

I don't watch a whole lot of racing but I'm pretty stoked. Talladega is known as the Red Neck Mardi Gras.

Damn my weekend will SUCK compared to Aural, Bloor and Derris. But compared to Charli, my weekend is stellar.

I'm gonna have to sit inside most of the weekend due to lack of funds. Possibly getting drunk tomorrow night.

Sunday: monger + HBO @ Night

Tonight I will be attending a secret cafe. For those of you that don't know, I'll explain what a secret cafe is. A secret cafe is where a group of anarchists and/or freegans transform an apartment, garage, or other building (in this case a bus) into a temporary underground restaurant. This keeps "the man" out of the loop. It is also a good way to raise money for what is known as "the cause."

After the secret cafe, I will go to a bar to watch a nerd rapper perform songs.

On Saturday I will attempt to make a short movie on my computer.

On Sunday I will begin to pack up some of my belongings and start planning my move to Minneapolis.

Maybe I will consume alcohol and chillax.

EDIT: For those of you that don't know, I'll explain what "chillax" is. It is a clever and hip term used by thirty year olds to describe the combination of "chilling out" and "relaxing".

TwilightKids' schedule sounds dangerous, with the potent combo of gf-away, drinking with ex who's leaving town right after a fine afternoon watching baseball and boozing.

Today: leave work early to wait for boiler dudes. Buy some food, the cupboard is bare. Laundry? Reading? Hang some blinds? The evening may be long enough for all of these!

Tomorrow: Farmer's market. Electricians coming over. Minor yardwork. Should do some regular work.

Sunday: Picnic with pals. Wrens show. Maybe some real work.

tonight: pick up friends at airport, dinner, The 88/Sloan show at Doug Fir and potential booty-shaking into the wee hours afterwards... drinking will be occurring during all phases except the picking up from airport part

tomorrow: got nothing, but I need to get a pedicure... laundry, house cleaning, checkbook balancing

sunday: metric century ride (64 miles)... after that I don't feel obligated to do a damn thing.

So I just picked up a six-pack of Victory's Golden Monkey and Dogfish Head's Shelter Pale Ale. That means that my sports will be accompanied! Yes!
