Sam Cooke: Portrait of a Legend 1951-1964

I used to have Sam Cooke: The Man and His Music, lost it and picked up the Greatest Hits package. Then, I was always pissed that it didn't have Another Saturday Night. This collection corrects that and a couple other minor sins and adds a couple really nice tracks like his versions of Summertime and Little Red Rooster. It left out Soothe Me, but it's still the best Sam Cooke collection around nowadays in my estimation. (although I really need to break down and get the box set) And, everyone needs a little Sam Cooke in their lives. If you like soul music and haven't gotten into Sam Cooke, what the hell are you waiting for?

Today's going to be a big listening day. Right now it's just Rum Sodomy & Lash-Pogues.

It's been quite a bit since I have listened to this.. and it makes me regret not going to see them when they came around to DC.
