- dare I unleash this on the obnerati?

- I got on the scale this morning, and I'm only 7 lbs. over my previous goal weight (goal weight when I lost it all about 7 years ago). I'm hoping to drop another 5 or so on top of that, so around 12-15 lbs. to go. I WILL SUCCEED, mark my words.

- watched "the Starter Wife" on USA last night. It was quite cute actually. Didn't make it through the entire 2 hour broadcast, as by 10 pm my eyelids were drooping big time (5 am wakeup calls for gym workouts tend to do that to a girl). The show was further proof that all women in stress need a gay boyfriend in their lives.

-I've got the Pandora's Box dvd with Louise Brooks waiting for me at the library, along with Kill Bill vol. 2 (been in kind of a tough chick/ass-kicking mood these days) and Barbarella is forthcoming.

UPDATE: I also found out "Barbarella" is awaiting me at the library too! :)

I watched that reality show about pirates last night. It's a rip off of Survivor meets Amazing Race, but it wasn't bad.

nice job on the weight loss d!

my wife started doing weight watchers pretty hardcore a couple months ago, and as a result i've also shed almost 20 pounds. my shorts from last summer are barely hanging on my hips.

other randomness - i watched the movie "click" last night, and even though i loathe adam sandler, the movie was actually pretty good. christopher walken is awesome, but that's a given.

I know I'm going to take some heat for posting this.

I need to find a new bar to frequent. My mainstay for the last 5 years has just fallen way the hell off over the last year, in that the owner just doesn't take care of the place. This is harder than it sounds since this place is downtown, has a really diverse/open-minded selection of live music/DJs, has a perfectly accessible bathroom (big plus for me) and is an old-school pub instead of a steakhead sportsbar.
In this town that's gonna be a tough combo to replace.

My pub; I mournz it.

Yeah? I might catch a replay on On Demand. We made fun of the commercials they ran during Survivor but its hard to resist the pull of a Mark Burnett show.

I found myself shaking my head at times but it's worth a chance to grow on me. It's definitely more campy than Survivor.

Also, there is NOTHING on TV right now. although I was very happy that Studio 60 just came out of freaking nowhere and was on last night

I was looking forward to the new season of Project Runway which was scheduled to premiere this Summer but apparently it won't premiere until the Fall. At least the new Big Brother is on.

I think they're gonna air the rest of the cut season this summer. I know the first part of a 3 pt. episode airs next week. I'm trying to figure out when they filmed this, what with the constant references to ratings and the surge.

Nice work.

My wife and I have been doing Weight Watchers for 15 months now, and have both lost a lot of weight (I had a lot more to lose than she, thus she's been in maintenance mode for 5 months). I'm just about finished---another 6-7 lbs and I'll be at my goal weight of 170. WW works well if done honestly and you stick with it.

So true. I lost a little over 100 lbs. on WW. I have kind of gotten lax with it in the last couple of years, so have gained a bit back, but once I start counting again I should lose that 30 or so pounds pretty quickly.

As for the summer TV front, I'm not watching anything, but will probably check in with the new season of Last Comic Standing.

Good job, both of youse! Yes, WW is how I lost my weight back a few years ago (a whopping 42 lbs, if you can believe it). I hate to say this, Mike, but maintenance is the hardest. I'm still able to fit in all my clothes, but go through periods where they're looser or tighter depending on where I'm at weight-wise, my activity level, hormones, etc.

Yeah, my wife lost 40lbs in 6 months, and has been able to keep it all off over the past 9 months on the maintenance plan, so she gives me some hope.

Given where I started, I'll be happy if I can just stay at or below 180.

. I haven't bought one album this year and my concert going has severly been cut down.

. I'm looking forward to meeting Cotton and his missus when they move to SoCal.

. I wish I knew how to work on electrical, plumbing and general contracting.

. We get to leave work early today due to server maintenance -- yay! Holy crap, that means I'll be home before it gets dark!

. Did you know there was a blue moon yesterday?

* I'm at work and for the first time since Tuesday, I feel a little bit normal. I even put on a little make-up.

* I have my own cable TV now. And my own internetz.

* My pants fit really well today, my stomach looks a little flat, and I'm almost tempted to stay on the "let's cry instead of eat" diet. Almost.

*Rod and OPA make me laugh out loud sometimes.
