The death of Charles Erdman, a 65-year-old Caucasian man, was ruled a homicide on March 15. On March 3 at 10:30 a.m. Erdman was driving in the 5800 block of Erdman Avenue near I-895 when he got into a minor traffic accident with someone driving an early-'90s green two-door Ford Explorer. According to police, Erdman got out of his car to inspect the damage, as did the driver of the Explorer.

Erdman tried to get the other driver's information, but the driver got back into the SUV. Erdman stood in front of the Explorer and held up his hands requesting that the driver stop. Instead, the driver stepped on the gas, running Erdman over. Erdman got tangled beneath the car and was dragged for 40 feet. The driver then slowed down, looked at Erdman under the car, and once again hit the gas. Erdman came loose, the driver ran him over again, and the Explorer sped off.

Erdman suffered numerous injuries all over his body. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he died at 10:04 p.m. on March 9. According to police, the Explorer was stolen last month. This is the second time someone has been murdered after a minor traffic accident in the last five mon
