My McAfee subscription ran out a while ago and i'm looking to change, mostly because it let through a whole bunch of viruses that have destroyed me and i'm bitter.

I'm taking suggestions on software, thinking about going with Norton. Entice me with something.

I use Avast...it's free and it does a great job

might as well give free AV a chance, since you don't seem to be getting much protection from your paid option

I've been using AVG free for the last month or so since my paid subscription ran out, but the other day my housemate simultaneously ran a scan with AVG free and Norton on his PC and Norton picked up a handful of things that AVG didn't, so i'm sceptical to say the least.

In my experience, free software seems to be free for a reason (not saying it is without its merits, tho).

I have a paid version of Avast, but the free version is great too. (I write the cost off.)
